Capalaba State College

Looking for employers willing to take on school-based apprentices and trainees

Capalaba State College is seeking business support to place students in school-based apprenticeship/ traineeship positions.

School-based apprenticeships and traineeships allow students to work for an employer and undertake training towards a recognised qualification whilst completing high school studies.

Training takes place whilst students are at work, at school or at their training provider. Students are required to work a minimum of 48 days over a 12-month period.

We have many students each year keen to take up this wonderful opportunity but we lack the employers to take them on, particularly in the trades areas.

Interviewers required

Capalaba State College holds mock interview sessions with senior students in November each year.

We would like employer support to conduct mock interview sessions.

Keeping our teachers skills current

Capalaba State College wants to ensure that teachers delivering Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs have up-to-date skills and knowledge of business and industry.

The College would like to engage with industry representatives that can provide short-term placements for staff to maintain their industry currency.

Looking for structured work placement opportunities

Capalaba State College encourages students to participate in structured work placement programs.

Capalaba State College would be interested in hearing from businesses that would be in a position to provide valuable learning opportunities through work experience placements in:

  • furnishing
  • hospitality
  • live production, theatre and events
  • information technology
