Improved Employment Services

Since the 1 July, 2003, a licensed network of Job Placement Organisations (JPO) has been introduced so that businesses can place job vacancies with an increased number of employment agencies as well as with Job Network members.

Job seekers can access these jobs through the new and improved technology-based JobSearch system and Kiosks, which were launched in Brisbane.

Federal Employment Services Minister, Mal Brough, said: 'I am pleased to launch Job Placement Services which are an innovative part of the new range of services for job seekers under our Active Participation Model.

The Federal Government has today licensed 375 Job Placement organisations, in addition to the 144 Job Network, Harvest Labour and NEIS providers, to increase the range and number of jobs available for job seekers on income support
