Small businesses are normally defined in terms of annual financial turnover and the number of employees. Most small businesses have less than 20 workers.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 44.5 per cent of the Australian workforce is employed in small business.
In the Redlands, around 60 per cent of businesses are classified as small.
