Amity
Amity is as peaceful as its name suggests. A fishing village on the calm waters of the channel between Straddie and Moreton Island, this is a family haven.
Spend a little time in the small township and you’ll soon discover the focal point is the jetty and sandy beach, attracting fishermen, divers and snorkellers drawn to the clear, still water.
The deep, clear Rous Channel runs just off the shore, making Amity an ideal spot for launching boats and casting straight into deep water from the beach.
Camping just metres from the beach is a popular holiday attraction. To find out more about your Amity camping holiday,

From Amity’s beach, a variety of birdlife including the ever present majestic pelicans are a pleasure to watch. In the clear water fish and the occasional wobbegong shark can be seen.
The calm and relaxed pace of Amity lets time slip away as you fish the beaches, or from the jetty, then cool off in the nearby saltwater swimming enclosure.
Sunsets are spectacular all over Straddie, but even locals come to Amity for the sheer pleasure of watching the sun paint the sky as it slides down over the bay.
Take a walk out to Amity Point’s namesake, where the beach, calm to here as the sand bar between Straddie and Moreton islands keeps the waves at bay, reaches a point and turns the corner to become Flinders Beach.
The surf fringed Flinders Beach curves away for several kilometres to Point Lookout - here, at the Point, is a perfect place to be as the sun sets at day’s end.
