Frenchman’s Beach

Frenchman’s Beach is flanked by two magnificent rocky headlands and is an adventure all on its own.

Access from the southern end is by over 160 steps that wind down through the bush from the road far above. At the other end, a headland must be traversed to get to Deadman’s Beach and from there back to the streets above.

Less accessible than many of the other beaches at Point lookout, it is not patrolled and it can be perfectly calm on a good day and quite treacherous on days when the tidal sweeps are close to shore.

Frenchman’s offers great walking and climbing with plenty to explore in the rocky outcrops at either end. Great surfing when the wind’s right.
