Southern Bay Islands Beaches
The islands of the southern bay are clustered together not far from the mainland. Russell, Karragarra, Lamb, Macleay and tiny Perulpa islands offer an unpretentious, relaxing alternative for visitors and residents.
The beaches on the bay islands are calm, often offer good fishing and many have picnic and barbecue facilities or protected tidal swimming enclosures. High tide always offers the most picturesque bayside experience on the islands and is the best time for swimming here.
Karragarra, once called Rabbit Island, is the smallest of the Bay Islands. Off the beaten track, Karra is a great place to stop, explore and enjoy the bay.
